Five nights of terror
Rockets and bombs
Five nights in a bunker
Stillness and calm.
A mother holds a child, hope in her eyes
Hides away her fear behind a smile
Rock-a-bye baby, sleep through the night
Hush, oh sweet baby, light comes after dark
Five days of gun shelling
Shattered lives like a glass
The world witnesses a foretelling
Look at the new genocide!
A mother holds a child as he sweetly sleeps
No one hears that her soul screams
Rock-a-bye baby, sleep through the night
Hush, oh sweet baby, light comes after dark.
A profound and poetic portrayal of the trials afflicting Ukraine and her brave citizens. Please know that likeminded people stand in solidarity with Ukraine. 👊🏻🌹
I am praying for the people of Ukraine to be freed from this terror and the Russian attack!
I am praying that the Russian people rise up against this mad man of destruction and terrorism!
The sweet gentleness of the scene you create is all the more poignant in the stark reality the mother faces. That all mothers and fathers, sisters, brothers, grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles…. face in the reality of this war.
Powerful poem poignantly pointing out the horrible situation in Ukraine.

Thank you for the tears. They ease the ache.

it’s painful, horrible reality and feels like tears aren’t enough to ease the pain.
